Forgiveness is one central concept in Christianity and other major world religions. It is so common that it is easy to believe we know all that there is to know about it. However, familiarity can be a cruel friend. Sometimes, when we believe we know something, we are susceptible to believing myths asif they were the truth.

So, have you believed any other these myths about forgiveness?

Need to learn to forgive? Here are two good options for you:

Forgiving and Reconciling

Forgiving the Devil

Chris,

Thanks for this post.
I am preaching on forgivness tomorrow morning.
There are many myths about forgivness. I am going to be dealing with the myths and the how to and what happens when we do forgive. Forgivness isn’t easy. It is so hard for many to do especially when the hurt is by those you love the most.
Thanks for you post today. It was a great read and something that all of need to learn to do.

Thanks again, Chris.

Thanks,
I needed that one. Forgiving isn’t easy; especially when the hurt is inflicted in disguise of being an act of Christian love or by the hands of a trusted adult.
Saying and doing are two very different things, but it’s worth a try.
